What fits on a 7 marla plot
A 7 marla plot is 1,575 sq ft, 175 sq yd, usually laid out 30 × 52.5 ft. Seven marla buys a 30 ft front, wide enough for a car porch beside a drawing room, and a fourth bedroom without making the others smaller.
In LDA approved schemes in Lahore, a house on a plot of 5 marla to under 10 marla may rise 3 storeys, up to 38 ft, with the ground floor covering at most 75% of the plot and 5 ft at the front and back kept open. On a 30 × 52.5 ft plot that comes to about 1,181 sq ft a floor. DHA Lahore allows 2 storeys and a basement, and its ground floor is what is left inside the clear spaces, 7 ft at the front and 3 ft at the back and on one side: 1,148 sq ft. The first floor may cover 82% of it, 941 sq ft, and the mumty 175 sq ft, about 2,264 sq ft above ground in all.
