Overview

Contractor software for construction businesses in Pakistan

Most contractors in Pakistan run the business from three places at once: a register in the site office, a few Excel files on one person’s laptop, and a stream of WhatsApp messages with photos of slips. It works while there are one or two sites. With the third site the owner stops being able to answer the simplest question about the business, which is whether a given job is making money.

Contractor software puts those three places into one. The supervisor records the day on the phone: who came to work, what was spent, what material arrived. The office pays labour, suppliers and subcontractors from those records instead of retyping them. Client bills and receipts sit on the same project. Because every entry belongs to a site, the money in and out of each site is simply there to read.

Smart Construction is built for that way of working, in PKR and with Pakistani practice built in: daily-wage labour, thekedars and petty contractors, advances against work, client retention, and bills on your own letterhead. Plans start at PKR 10,000 a month for a small team, and the same records grow with you into purchase orders, IPCs and project P&L when the business needs them.

What you get

  • Profit per site known while the job is running, not after it ends
  • Every rupee paid to labour, suppliers and subcontractors on record
  • Client payments and dues clear without opening three registers

Core capabilities

  • Every site as a project with its own spend
  • Daily-wage labour attendance and wages
  • Material purchases and supplier balances
  • Subcontractor work, advances and bills
  • Client bills, receipts and what is still due
  • Mobile app for supervisors, WhatsApp alerts for the owner

How it works

How the work runs, step by step

The same sequence your office and sites already follow, in one system instead of registers, spreadsheets, and WhatsApp threads.

  1. Open a project for each site

Client, contract amount and location on one record. Everything that happens on the site is recorded against it.

  2. Record the day from site

The supervisor marks labour attendance, adds expenses with a photo of the slip, and logs materials received, from the phone.

  3. Pay labour, suppliers and subcontractors

Wages come from attendance, supplier bills from purchases, subcontractor bills from their work and advances. Each payment lands on the right ledger.

  4. Bill the client and record receipts

Client bills on your letterhead, receipts against them, and what is still due always visible.

  5. See the money per site

Money in and out of every project and the company’s bank and cash position, without adding up registers at month end.

Capabilities

What it helps your team do

The daily work below is on every plan; some advanced controls start on Growth or Scale. The pricing page shows what each plan includes.

Sites as projects

Each job is a project with its client, contract amount and location, and every expense, wage, purchase and receipt is recorded against it.

Labour and daily wages

Attendance marked on site from the phone, wages worked out from it, and advances recovered, for daily-wage crews and salaried staff alike.

Materials and suppliers

Purchases recorded against the site they are for, with each supplier’s bills, payments and balance kept in one ledger.

Subcontractors and thekedars

The work given, advances paid, bills raised and balance left, per subcontractor and per project, so nothing is paid twice.

Client bills and receipts

Bills on your letterhead, payments received against them, and the amount still due on every project.

Owner’s view on WhatsApp

Alerts and the AI chat assistant on WhatsApp let the owner ask about spending and balances without opening a laptop.

Use cases

Situations this is built for

Recognisable scenarios from construction businesses operating in Pakistan.

Three sites and one cash box

The situation
A contractor runs three houses at once. Money for all three goes out of one cash box, and at the end of the month nobody can split what was spent on which site.
How Smart Construction handles it
Each payment is recorded against the site it was for, on the phone, when it is made.
What changes
The spend on every site is known each day, and the owner can see which job needs attention before its money runs out.

A thekedar who says he is still owed

The situation
A labour subcontractor claims a balance from two months ago. The advances were paid in cash by different people, and the register has gaps.
How Smart Construction handles it
Every advance and bill is recorded on the subcontractor’s ledger for that project, with who paid it and when.
What changes
The balance is read from the ledger, and the conversation is about the work rather than about memory.

Labour cost hiding in petty cash

The situation
Daily wages are paid from petty cash and never reach the job cost, so a project that looks profitable is quietly losing money.
How Smart Construction handles it
Attendance is taken on site and wages are worked out from it against the project.
What changes
Labour shows up where it was spent, and the true margin on each job is visible.

Benefits

Terminology

The vocabulary on this page, explained

Plain definitions of the terms Pakistani contractors and consultants use day to day.

Thekedar
A labour or petty contractor who supplies a crew or a trade for part of the work, usually paid against measured work with advances in between.
Daily-wage labour
Workers paid per day of attendance rather than a monthly salary. The largest variable cost on most Pakistani sites and the easiest to lose track of.
Advance
Money paid before the work it is for is billed. It has to be recovered from later bills or the subcontractor is overpaid.
Retention
A percentage the client holds back from each bill until the work is complete and defects are put right.
Project P&L
Profit and loss for one project: what the client has paid or owes against everything spent on that job.

Is this only for big construction companies?

No. The Starter plan is sized for a small contractor team, up to 3 active projects and 5 users, and covers all daily site and office work. You move up a plan when you take on more sites.

Can my site supervisor use it on a phone?

Yes. Supervisors record attendance, expenses, materials and photos in the mobile app, and the office sees the entries straight away. Access is set by role, so a supervisor sees only what they need.

We keep everything in registers and Excel. Can we bring it in?

Yes. Opening balances, suppliers, subcontractors and old entries can be brought in, and AI Import (from Growth) reads your Excel files or even photos of a register page and asks before it creates anything.

Will it show profit for each site?

Yes. Every expense, wage, purchase and client payment is recorded against a project, so the money in and out of each site is always visible. Project P&L and the Project Summary report start on Growth.

How much does contractor software cost in Pakistan?

Published plans start at PKR 10,000 a month on Starter (up to 3 active projects and 5 users), PKR 15,000 on Growth and PKR 25,000 on Scale, with 5% off quarterly and 10% off annual billing, plus a one-time setup fee.

Do we need a computer on site?

No. Supervisors use the mobile app on their own phones. The office and owner use the web on a laptop or the same app.

Can we start with one site?

Yes, and it is the usual way to start. Run one project for a few weeks, then bring the other sites in once the team is used to it.
